Inland Waterways Development Association of Nigeria (IWDAN) is a Non Governmental, Non Partisan and socio-economic organization formed by well meaning Nigerians from various ethnic and religious divides of the 28 member States of the federation, whose purpose is to promote conservation, development, restoration, maintenance and use of inland waterways. We also seek to promote safe and peaceful business environment for players in the industry. Hence, we find it imperative for all member States to come together to form a coherent, virile and common front in our collective objectives, and speak with one voice in matters concerning the Inland waterways development, with the mandate to campaign non-violently and to function in that vein as one strong, united and indivisible organization dedicated to the promotion and enhancing sustainability of building intellectual awareness and the empowerment of all humanity under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and various other laws we may from time to time bound to to be further dedicated to the maintenance of world peace, solidarity, international co-operation and continental understanding aimed at improving human capital development and to promote development of its members as a way of checkmating unwholesome practices in our waterways.
To be a virile campaigner for the Waterways Development via sensitization and value reorientation of communities in the member States and the business operators in view of expanding and protecting our Inland waterways economically.
To bring to birth a new world of thriving and growing network of sustainable Inland waterways that is safe and habitable for us all.

Our goals is to promote sustainable development through the member States, to collaborate with the Government to ensure compliance of inland waterways rules and regulations and to create an enabling environment for business out fits to thrive.
